Keep Going – why you keep stopping and how to move through. Workshop 13 May 12.30pm
If you keep starting things in your business or creative work… and then stopping, slowing down, second-guessing yourself or drifting off track, then this lunchtime workshop is exactly what you need.
I want you to understand that you don’t do this start/ stop cycle because you are lazy, not good enough or need ‘more discipline’ or focus. And it’s also not because you don’t know what to do (even though it sometimes feels like that).
But nonetheless, something is getting in your way, blocking momentum and getting in the way of progress. Wouldn’t you love to sort that out?
Does this sound familiar…
You have an idea, set a goal, it’s something you really want to do. You begin with energy and commitment and you make a plan and start.
And then something shifts. This might be almost immediately, it might be after some activity and momentum, it might even be very close to the finish line.
But at some point in the process you hesitate, rethink, start to tweak things that were already done maybe. You get distracted or pulled into something else. You have to make a decision or find a new skill and this feels hard. You tell yourself you just need to take a step back, figure it out properly before you continue. At this point, momentum is all but lost and you have stalled, stopped.
At this point the frustration and the blame game starts. We tell ourselves that we are undisciplined, inconsistent, not good enough.
None of this is true, but here’s what is.
There are some key patterns that we can get caught up in that interrupt our momentum. Patterns that are very unconscious for many of us but keep you stuck in a loop of starting, stopping and not completing. And it’s only by knowing about and spotting these patterns that we can start to break the start/ stop issue.
I see these patterns all the time in women that I coach and I wanted to bring what I and they have learned about keeping momentum, into a short, powerful session, where everyone can learn.
In this one-hour workshop, I’m going to help you see those patterns clearly, including the ones rooted in fear of getting it wrong, perfectionism, and having too many things pulling at your attention.
And more importantly, I’ll show you what to do about them.
I want you to see exactly where you’re getting in your own way, so you can start to behave differently!
You’ll leave with:
- a clear sense of the pattern or patterns that’s been stopping you
- a simple, practical way to move through it
- and a focused plan to help you keep going over the next week
You’ll also receive a short companion guide after the session, with prompts and simple tools to help you continue the work in your own time.
There’ll be space to reflect as we go, but this isn’t a long or overwhelming session. It’s designed for a lunchtime, will be simple and practical, and will get you out of the stop/start cycle and back into something better!
